Ergotron WorkFit-S workstations are mechanical products and like anything mechanical they do occasionally fail.Â
The WorkFit-S announces its failure with a loud and unmistakable snap.The cable hidden inside the column has broken and the workstation will no longer move up or down.Â
This is a known problem with the earlier generation of the product but happens rarely now.
The good news is that Ergotron products are covered by a five year warranty and your workstation probably falls within that time period. Here is what to do;
- record the serial number and model number found underneath the metal support that connects the keyboard tray to the column.
- contact Ergotron at (800) 888-8458 and ask for Technical Support .
The support person will use the serial number to determine the shipping date (and warranty eligibility) of the workstation.
Lucinda Technology Solutions will install replacement workstations free of charge for customers in the National Capital Region.
